Besides all the extra preparations one must make this year to travel to Uman for Rosh Hashanah, there is now a new step in the process to be able to actually leave Israel. As of today August 16th, every traveler who wants to leave Israel must fill out a declaration of health on the Ministry of Health site. There are also some personal details that must be filled in. The form is to be filled out within 24 hours of your flight. It cannot be filled out earlier.

Who must fill out this form:

Anybody who wants to leave Israel – Israeli citizens and Non-Israeli citizens.

What happens after filling out the form?

Depending on the information that you give in the form you will either receive permission to fly or you will not receive permission to fly. Reasons for not being able to fly (as far as we understand from the Ministry of Health site) are having symptoms of Corona, etc.

Once you receive permission to fly you should print it out or save it on your phone and bring it with you to Ben Gurion airport. You will not be allowed into the terminal without your ticket and this form.

There is also the requirement now to fill out a form when wanting to return to Israel from wherever you are (in our case it will be Uman with Hashem’s help). This form is basically the same as above and must be filled out within 24 hours of your return flight to Israel. Citizens and non-citizens (who are able to return to Israel) need to fill out this form as well. After filling it out you will either receive permission to fly or not.
