At least two Breslov Chassidim were caught breaking the nightly curfew in Uman. Due to the current war in Ukraine, there is a nightly curfew in Uman from 11 pm to 5 am. You cannot leave your place of residence for any reason except to go to a shelter during a rocket siren. One of the Chassidim left his place of residence at 11:02 pm (two minutes after the curfew starts) and was caught by police and had his passport taken away. He was given his passport back yesterday and told to leave Ukraine. The Ukrainians told him that this time he would be able to return after leaving. Another Breslover was also caught outside after the Curfew and is also leaving Ukraine.
The Askanim of the Ichud Breslov in Uman wish to emphasize the warning of the government officials in Ukraine that everyone should follow all the laws. Anyone who is coming to Uman and plays games especially during this war time, puts the Uman Rosh Hashanah Kibbutz at risk. It is also important to note that one must carry their passport at all times. It is also forbidden to photograph Ukrainian security forces, police officers, vehicles, etc.
